1. Local Image Processing and File Privacy

All image conversion operations—including HEIC to JPG, HEIC to PNG, HEIC to PDF, and HEIC to WebP—are executed locally on your device inside your web browser.

When you select image files for conversion:

• Your selected image files are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript, Canvas, and WebAssembly technologies.
• Your selected image files and converted outputs are never uploaded to or stored on remote conversion servers.
• We do not collect, extract, or transmit EXIF metadata or photo content from your selected images.
• Converted image files and generated PDFs are created directly in your browser's local memory for instant download.

2. Technical and Website Usage Information

While selected image files remain strictly private on your device, standard web browsing involves routine technical requests between your browser and our web hosting infrastructure.

Depending on your consent choices and the optional services enabled, usage information may include:

• Aggregate page views and client-side route navigation;
• Browser type, operating system, device characteristics, and screen resolution;
• Approximate geographic region derived from network IP routing (processed by analytics/hosting providers);
• Referral URL source and language preferences; and
• Standard web server log diagnostic data (e.g., HTTP request headers, IP address for security and network delivery).

We do not require user account registration, passwords, or personal login profiles to use our converter tools.

3. Consent Management & Google Consent Mode v2

We implement Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure optional measurement technologies respect your explicit privacy choices.

How consent operates on HEICJPGOnline:

• Default State: For first-time visitors or visitors without a saved consent choice, all optional analytics and advertising signals (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) are defaulted to denied. Optional analytics scripts are not initialized prior to your choice.
• Accept All: If you grant analytics consent, analytics_storage is set to granted, allowing optional performance and usage tracking. Advertising signals remain denied as advertising is inactive.
• Reject Non-Essential: If you reject non-essential technologies, all optional analytics remain strictly disabled. Core file conversion functionality remains 100% accessible.
• Manage Preferences: You can customize your consent choices via our preferences modal at any time.

4. Optional Analytics Services

To understand website usage and improve application speed and usability, HEICJPGOnline uses optional analytics services:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Uses Measurement ID G-QM5DE60HE1. GA4 script loading, page-view tracking, and event measurement occur only after analytics consent is granted. When active, GA4 may create first-party measurement cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*).
• Vercel Analytics: Component-based web analytics provided by our hosting environment. Vercel Analytics is conditionally mounted and active only when optional analytics consent is granted.

Selected photo content, filenames, and converted output files are never sent to Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics.

5. Cookies and Browser Storage Inventory

HEICJPGOnline utilizes local browser storage to provide essential application features and honor your privacy settings:

• heicjpgonline-consent (localStorage): Essential functional storage used to remember your privacy choices (consent version, analytics setting, advertising preference/state, and decision timestamp). It contains no personal images or identifying details.
• app-theme (localStorage): Essential functional storage used to remember your light or dark display mode selection.
• First-Party Analytics Cookies (_ga, _ga_*): Non-essential analytics cookies set by Google Analytics only if analytics consent is granted.
• Service Worker & CacheStorage: Essential Progressive Web App (PWA) browser cache used to store static web assets (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, icons) so the application loads quickly and can operate offline. User image files are not cached by the Service Worker.

Note: HEICJPGOnline does not use sessionStorage or IndexedDB databases.

6. Changing or Withdrawing Your Consent

You have total control over your optional analytics settings and can change or withdraw your consent at any time.

To update your settings:

Click the "Cookie Settings" link located in the website footer on any page. This reopens the preferences panel where you can enable or disable optional analytics.

What happens when consent is withdrawn:

• Google Consent Mode signals are immediately updated to denied.
• Future application-initiated tracking and page-view events are stopped.
• Vercel Analytics is unmounted from the application.
• The website attempts to remove known first-party Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that are accessible to the site.

Note: Withdrawing consent stops future telemetry from being generated, but does not retroactively delete previously transmitted aggregated statistics stored on Google Analytics or Vercel servers.

7. Advertising Status

Google AdSense and third-party advertising networks are not currently active on HEICJPGOnline.

No advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or ad personalization technologies are currently deployed on this website. Advertising consent signals remain set to denied.

If advertising services are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and the website's consent controls will be updated before or alongside their introduction.

8. Hosting, CDN, and Security Infrastructure

HEICJPGOnline is delivered via cloud hosting and Content Delivery Network (CDN) providers. These infrastructure services process standard network request headers (including IP addresses and user-agent strings) strictly for network routing, denial-of-service protection, and server security.

Selected photo files are processed in your client browser and are never uploaded to our hosting infrastructure for conversion.

9. Progressive Web App (PWA) and Offline Usage

HEICJPGOnline operates as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Your browser caches static application bundles (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) via a Service Worker to allow offline file conversion.

Static application assets remain stored locally on your device until updated, cleared, or removed via your browser settings. Your photos are not stored in the PWA application cache.

10. Rights for European, UK, and Global Visitors

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or US state privacy laws), you may have specific rights regarding your personal data and electronic communication privacy, including:

• The right to accept or refuse non-essential cookies and analytics measurement;
• The right to withdraw previously granted consent at any time without affecting essential site tools;
• The right to request information regarding data processing practices; and
• The right to contact us regarding privacy inquiries.

11. Data Security and Safeguards

By processing selected files locally in your browser, our converters avoid the additional privacy and security exposure that would result from uploading your photos to a remote conversion server.

12. Children's Privacy

HEICJPGOnline is a general-audience file conversion utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. No registration or personal data submission is required to convert files.

13. Data Retention

Because selected image files are converted in browser memory and not uploaded to remote servers, we do not retain or store your image files.

Essential browser preference storage (such as theme and consent choices) remains stored on your device until you clear your browser cache or site data.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect updates to our consent systems, analytics integrations, or legal obligations. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
